my first flight

1st flight with the XK380C,13+mins and still had the flashing green,put away in the box with no damage,I might relax more on the next flight,it's the first time ever with joysticks,goes to show how good this is with clowns,I got stressed a few times in the flight,just let go the sticks and took a breath,feel free to comment,I'm learning all the time with the help of the forums etc...cheers..Ian

Great first flight. Like the soundtrack, much better than the angry wasp nest.
I had the same toilet bowl thing happen on my 1st flight, I think I did the calibrating like you by holding in front and turning around. Now I sit it on the ground and rotate it half turn at a time until I get the 2 done. Same on its side as well, and it holds position now.
Also calibrate the gyro's, 13/14 toggle of the switch on right. Fast flash will confirm. Do on the level.
Working out orientation gets harder as it gets farther, one way to get sorted is by watching if it is going left or right ant amount when using forward stick. If its going to the right a little then by yaw(rotate) right on the stick until the movement right stops will mean its heading back to you.
Very good fist flight though.

that ones slipped the radar did the transmitter binding, and the compass dance,missed the gyro thingy completely,would that have been the toilet bowling prob then ??

found this ? I've never picked up on this while watching/reading etc, going out later so will report back

The gyro often gets overlooked....Its not in manual so new owners dont realise.
Other people quote 12 toggles of the right switch, but it never works with 12 on mine, its more like 14. Like i said you will see a fast flashing from LED to let you know its done.
The toilet bowl is down to either compass or gyro....More likely compass but if gyro not set level then quad will always want to move in one direction untill one of the other sensors tell it to move back the other way, so i guess the fight between the sensor could produce this movement as it keeps adjusting.

music I'll be using is all from jean michel jarre, got loads of his stuff,Ideal for video as he's some mammoth tracks that run from one to the other alllowing you to just trim to video size,anything for an easy life.

Old Geezer? I'm starting to realize the median age seems to be 45.
I can give a hint on my age....in the first part of your video, I started yelling at the screen when that car was going through the round-a-bout on the wrong side! Then I realized you must be in the UK or something so I settled down. hehe

You are making 1 big mistake though. You are too intent on watching the quad that you might do what I do often...................I end up tripping and falling on my arse!

Nice vid and you seem to be doing just fine. I learned on a big one inside my house with a space about 5 foot square. I always do things the hard way. Once I finally got it outside it was so much easier! But it did do a nice job of dusting for me.

I'm 61 but a few h/attacks make you a tad vulnerable,loving this though,nice rest from Driving my van,I agree with the quad watching though,the med's I take can cause dizziness when I tip my head back,so flying overheads a no no,I try to fly where I can sit down if possible,that's why a lot of the flights appear boringly low,getting the confidence now to take her up at a distance then I don't struggle,
