crashed my new x380

I hate to post this but I feel I have to. While waiting for parts for my first x380 i ordered another from WL Toys and got it in under a week and it had FAP , I got it tuned in pretty good with no jello and then ordered the hobbyking quanum fpv goggles. so I took the x380 out last Friday for a quick flight to catch the sunset. I had it out pretty far so I hit the RTH and shes coming back then I get a text from a girl and I feel like I need to take it, never text and fly that was my mistake, so I see it is in the first stage of low battery so I decided to take it out of RTH and land quickly, I also had a neck strap on and let go the tx to put away my phone and I felt the tx lean on my chest with the controls touching me at the same time I heard the 380 go quiet and I looked up just in time to see it coming down upside down. It broke the gimbal the GPS the two little switches on the fc board for the status light and the lens in the camera but it still works. That's it other then a few little cracks it the shell that are really nothing. In the mean time I got the parts for the other 380 and got it going just in time for the delivery of the FPV. It is hard to watch a crash but this in no way was the x380's fault as a matter of fact the headless mode worked all the time so this IS a good bird and I'll get it going again, but like I was going to say, I got to comfortable with this thing cause it can fly itself and DO NOT TEXT AND FLY I do not fly over people or houses but I live in the country so I don't have to worry to much. But with that punch it took I can't believe it still works , yes I unplugged it and plugged it back in and started the motors. Happy flying everyone.

You were so close to home! Ouch! But I'll tell you, I would run mine into a brick wall if a lady called while flying. You can fix the quad, but fixing an upset woman is much harder
Did you tell her that you sacrificed the quad so you could talk to her? Big points right there.

she was a long lost girlfriend i had wandered what had became of her and she found me on facebook and we started talking again and i just got excited to get another text from her but i did not tell her about the crash until last night when i checked me emails to follow up on a job and seen your post and it was great so i had to tell her. see i live in indiana where we use to date and she moved to michigan then is back here to take care of her mom for a couple a weeks so when i told her she said "ou no i owe you for a quadcopter and we laughed, it's all good cause it's just a broken item that i can fix (and besides i still have one i am flying until then) but it's all about a new found relationship and having someone with that really cares wht you do,,,,, Happy flying

ya never know, i was out flying just now but too windy and i took a pic of it in the air and she said " oh no dont fly and text, im gona have to buy you 2,",,,, so i landed.
