Ill start this off from my morning out today.
So got up this morning and having the day off, looked out to see a clear blue sky and all was calm.
GREAT...So I grabbed my gear and headed out...I had just the place to spend a beautiful morning.
This is what greeted me when I got there
So I got set up quickly and standing on the sand down by the water I placed the quad on the case to avoid the sand and took off....
Hovering at head height to observe before heading out, something hit the quad's shell with a clatter, and pinged off into the sand about 6 feet from where i was standing
I dont know why but I looked up into the sky
....Maybe I was half expecting to see a seagull glaring at me as if to say, 'Clear off pal, this is my patch'.
But there was nothing, so I zoomed in on the quad, and there it was hovering minus one of its prop nuts, with nothing holding it on
PANIC...LAND....FAST....came down and clipped the case it stood on at take off, but luckily, ended up standing on all fours.
So it was the prop nut that had pinged of the quad.
Where did it land
Spent the next 20mins crawling around the damp sand try to find a black prop nut that just happens to look exactly like that bubbly sea weed that gets washed up
I mean, can you imagine what it must have looked like, walking along the promenade and spotting some guy crawling on all fours in the sand in middle of January
No I didnt find it...I had to pack it all away and leave before the men in white coats arrived.
Blooming idiot me, I put the prop nuts on like they were self tightening and never thought twice about it. The other black one had unscrewed itself as well and was one turn from coming off.....What a plonker.
So from my travels all I got was this lousy T-Shirt.
